Transfer iPhone 3.1 to Computer

Apple WWDC 2009 keynote

Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference kicks off on 8th June in San Francisco without Steve Jobs appearance. The conference begins with the Phil Schiller's appearance on the stage.

Schiller starts out with the uprising number of OSX: active users from only 25 million in 2002, up to 75 million now.

MacBook

Then Schiller shows the brand new version of 15inch MacBook Pro.

MacBook Pro

The 15-inch MacBook Pro models were refreshed and saw price cuts. Faster processors, better battery life (but nonremovable batteries), SD card slots, and more RAM all around (upgradable to eight gigabytes), with the $2,499 model dropped in favor of a $2,299 one, and a new, much more affordable entry-level 15-inch MacBook Pro at $1,699 sans GeForce 9600M GT discrete graphics card.

Snow Leopard

Leopard is the most successful software product Apple has ever had, like Cover Flow, Quick Look, Time Machine. It's a sharp contrast with Windows Vista. Showing quotes from PC Mag, InfoWeek talking about Vista. Microsoft has dug a good hole for itself with Windows Vista; Windows 7 is built on the same technologies: registry, DLLs, the User Account Control, defragging hard drive. And in Windows 7, even more complexity for users. Windows 7 is just another version of Vista.

iPhone OS 3.0

iPhone OS 3.0, which includes push notifications, copy-and-paste, and a ton of other features will be freely available to all iPhone owners (regardless of which model they have) on June 17th. It will be available to iPod touch owners that same day for $9.95.

iPhone OS 3.0

iPhone 3.0 supports tethering--using the phone's Internet connection to add Web access for your Mac or PC. Tethering will work over USB cord or Bluetooth, and won't require any special software on the computer. The big news, though, is that although Apple has a number of carriers committed to supporting tethering, and AT&T isn't one of them.

iPhone 3G [S]

iPhone 3G S

The new iPhone 3G S (the S stands for speed) has the same design as iPhone 3G, but what's inside is entirely new.
As expected, the device features a brand new 3 megapixel autofocus camera. Auto-focus. Auto-white balance. Auto-exposure. Tap-to-focus. Improved low-light sensitivity. Auto-macro. "The best thing about this camera is it also captures video." 30 FPS VGA with audio. Auto-focus, etc. Quick demo of video shows that quality is impressive. Videos are stored alongside pix in the picture application. Edit and share videos with the tap of a finger. "And if my carrier supports it, I can even send these things via MMS," Schiller quips in a poke at AT&T.

Also new in the 3Gs: Voice Control. Features a brand new UI that displays the commands you can use. Also on-board in the new device, a built-in digital compass that's capable of orienting to the direction a user is heading.

There are more new features. Improved security. Improved accessibility features. Improved battery life. 5 hours 3G talk time. 30 hours audio. "This is the fastest, most powerful iPhone yet," says Schiller.

As for the price? $199 for 16GB. $299 for 32GB.And both are available in black and white. Apple will keep the current 8GB 3G on the market at $99. That $99 3G is already available now. As for the 3Gs, it will be initially launched on June 19 and then there will be a fast and massive roll-out to 80 countries.
