Wondershare Video Converter gives you, the user, ultimate control over your video files. You can adjust runtime, resolution, bitrate, merge multiple videos into one file, insert special effects and edit. The only thing keeping Wondershare Video Converter out of our #1 spot is its inability to convert DVD files.

Input Files:  
Wondershare Video Converter accepts a comprehensive list of input files including WMV, AVI, MPEG 1 and 2, MP4 (iPod and PSP files), 3GP (cellular phones) and even FLV videos downloaded from YouTube.

We found that although Wondershare Video Converter can convert audio files, it cannot rip a CD directly from the drive. You have to load the album to your hard drive before Wondershare Video Converter can convert your file.
The only thing truly holding Wondershare Video Converter back is it cannot convert DVDs, either from the hard drive or your DVD drive. Wondershare does have another product that can rip DVDs and place them on your favorite media player for about $40. They also sell the Wondershare DVD Ripper and Video Converter as a suite for about $50.

Output Files:  
The Wondershare Video Converter includes the most comprehensive list of file outputs we reviewed. Not only does it support almost all file types including MP4, RM (RealPlayer) and FLV (Flash); it breaks each of its selections down according to specific media players like iPod, Zune, Zen and more. You don’t have to know which video formats your player supports, you just have to select your media player, Wondershare Video Converter does the rest.
And with the Wondershare Video Converter you can convert unprotected audio files to MP3, WAV, AAC, OGG and more.

Features:  
With the Wondershare Video Converter you can batch convert files, adjust start and stop times, adjust video dimensions, change video and audio bitrates, extract audio and more. It also includes a small selection of editing tools that allow you to change contrast, brightness and saturation. You can also flip your video vertically and horizontally, change the image to grayscale, negative or sepia.

Two of our favorite features associated with the Wondershare Video Converter include the ability merge multiple videos into one file and the ability to take a “snapshot” of your video and save it as an image. Although these features aren’t unique to Wondershare Video Converter it is one of the few products we evaluated that included both options.
Wondershare Video Converter also includes an iPod transfer tool that allows you to move your MP4 converted files to your iPod without requiring you to use iTunes. This was the only product we evaluated that included this feature.

Ease of Use:  
We found the Wondershare Video Converter to be extremely easy to use. Everything is clearly labeled and easily accessible. We didn’t have any problems understanding the process and were able to jump right into converting video files.

Help and Support:  
Wondershare Video Converter provides email support, an in-program guide, FAQs, live chat and user forums. We found the forums to contain a lot of user contributed information and our emails were responded to within a day. Although, Wondershare includes a live chat feature it seemed every time we went to use it the operator was offline.

Summary:  
Wondershare Video Converter is a comprehensive video conversion program that allows users to convert a wide variety of formats to almost any output format. We found the program easy to use, and even the advanced features were non-threatening. The only thing keeping this product out of our #1 spot is its inability to convert files ripped from DVDs.
