Part 1:sth about PSP

 

PSP stands for PlayStation Portable, a handheld game console produced by Sony company。It is also a great portable music player, which supports most audio and video formats, such as MP3, WMA, WAV, ATRAC3 plus and so on. However, it couldn't play protected WMV files directly. So, if you want to play them on PSP, you need to convert them to MP4 format first.

 

Part 2: How to convert protected WMV files

 

To convert protected WMV files, you may need some software to help you. Now I will show you the conversion process using Wondershare Media Converter.

 

Here is the step by step tutorial:

 

1.Download Wondershare Media Converter, and install it. Then, add WMV files to it. You can either click 'ADD' button to insert the music you want to convert，or easily drag & drop the files into 'Getting started' table.

 

 

Then you should be able to see a list of WMV files that you'd like to convert.

 

2.Choose output format. Click "setting -> Format Present-> PSP,PS3", then you can choose output format which matches your player in the list.

 

You can also change the output file location, or the output files will be located as default.

 

 

3.Finally, click the start button, and the converting process is beginning. After converting, the files are in mp4 format. You can view your converted files by press the browse button.

 

 

Part 3:How to transfer converted WMV files to PSP
After conversion, now we can import the converted files to PSP. It is very easy to do. Things you need are: a PSP, a computer, a USB cable and a Memory Stick Duo or Pro Duo.

1.Now here are the steps to achieve this:

 

2.Insert memory stick into your PSP and format it. Connect your PSP to your computer using the USB cable.

 

3.Then, scroll to the "Settings" icon on the home menu of your PSP. Press the "USB Connection" icon in the "Settings" menu. Your computer will recognize it as a USB storage device.

 

4.Create a new folder in the root directory of the Memory Stick, called MP_ROOT. Inside the MP_ROOT folder, create another folder called 100MNV01. After that, drag the mp4 files into "100MNV01" folder.
